Pathways to Ordination

Pathways to Ordination Program (POP) supports the training of lay-leaders in Indigenous congregations and M.Div. students as they pursue ordination according to the requirements of their denomination. POP provides financial support to certificate-level and M.Div. students committed to serving Indigenous congregations to attend Indigenous-designed theological education programs sponsored by their denomination. Currently, POP is accepting applications for students to attend the Theological Education in Indigenous Leadership (TEIL) program within the Evangelical Lutheran Church in American and the North American Course of Study Program (NACOS) within the United Methodist Church, NAIITS: An Indigenous Learning Community Annual Symposium and Summer Session, and Vancouver School of Theology Indigenous Studies Summer Program.

Students who are serving in Indigenous congregations or ministries and are seeking ordination in a mainline denomination are invited to apply.
